Laurel lectures as a Jungian analyst and sandplay therapist internationally and shares her research into the symbolism of ancient, Middle Eastern images of the feminine archetype. Her work traces the development of archeological images prior to and during the writing of the Old Testament.

Laurel is researching and writing about Mary Magdalene as a figure who appears in the Bible, legend, Gnosticism, popular culture, and alchemy and has important psychological and spiritual meaning to women and men today.

Laurel has lectured on the meaning of color in dreams and the history of color pigmentation in art and alchemy as aspects of its symbolic meaning.

Other topics of interest include alchemy in sandplay, dream interpretation, fairy tales, film, and parent-child relationships.
